Hello FTC Coaches, Mentors & Supporters:

Welcome to your first competition weekend! I have 4 items for you today.

1. Events this weekend – come even if you aren’t ready!

The first set of league events is this weekend! Depending on your league, you will either be competing Saturday or Sunday. I’m sure many (most teams) don’t feel like they are quite ready to compete. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Please plan to come even if you don’t have a working robot. You will find help at your event and most likely will have a working robot by the end of your event.

If you just absolutely can’t make it, please let your League Coordinator know so they aren’t waiting for you to arrive. IF you don’t have their information, feel free to email me and I will make sure to pass it along.

Remember, you should have two coaches listed as well as your students registered on your team. Don’t worry about this for your first league event, but it will be required for your second league event. Feel free to reach out to me if you are having difficulties, I am happy to help you through it.

2. What to bring to your event

·        Your Gracious Professionalism! Of course you should bring this every weekend but I just wanted to give everyone a reminder. The first event often times runs a bit late and isn’t as smooth as the latter events, all of the volunteers are doing this for the first time just like you.

·        Extension cord and power strip for your pit

·        Tools and robot parts

·        Lunch & Snacks

·        Team Roster, printed from FIRST Inspires website or paper consent forms from FIRST Inspires (Rosters are mandatory for Dec. 2, and Jan. 12, -Inter Districts (paper form: (https://www.firstinspires.org/sites/default/files/uploads/resource_library/first-youth-team-member-paperwork-2016-2017.pdf)

·        A “Power Button label” on your robot (Page 31 in the Game Manual, Part 1)

3. Event Results

The event results should be posted by the end of the day the Tuesday after the event. I will send an email out to teams next week once the results are posted.

4. FTC State Championship

Mark your calendars, the FTC State Championship has been scheduled for Sunday, January 26^th! More info will be sent out after the first of the year.
