
If you are interested in a FIRST LEGO League Jr. team please contact your local school to see if they have a team already established. If they do not, consider starting one yourself!
FIRST LEGO League Jr. teams consist of children ages 6 to 10. Teams should have a minimum of 2 students and no more then 6. A core component of the program is teamwork and problem solving.
Teams can be organized in may different ways:
- After school programs
- Boys & Girls Clubs, Girl and Boys Scouts, 4H, FFA, neighborhood organizations
- Homeschool parents
- Church youth groups
- In classroom teams as part of science curriculum
Once a team has been identified to participate in FIRST LEGO League Jr. the coach or team representative must go through the following steps:
FIRST Registration
FIRST registration through FIRST opens at the beginning of August with the release of the annual challenge and will close in April about a week before the World Festival Expo.
Registrations includes:
- Inspire Set (LEGO Model and extra LEGO's)
- FIRST LEGO League Jr. Team Meeting Guide
- Six FIRST LEGO League Jr. Engineering Notebooks
- Special pricing on LEGO WeDo 2.0 kit

FIRST Washington Event Registration
FIRST LEGO League Jr. events are non-competitive and are meant to be a celebration of each team's work. Once the FIRST registration is complete the team coach or representative must register with FIRST Washington. Expo and local event information is available here
