FIRST Washington is pleased to partner with FIRST, Amazon and Seattle Public Schools on Amazon’s Future Engineer Program. This program will bring computer science and robotics to up to 30 Title 1 Seattle Public Schools to build the next generation of computer scientists right here in our own backyard. Focusing students from underrepresented and underserved communities, each of the schools will receive support to launch FIRST robotics teams, including teacher professional development facilitated by FIRST Washington, support from Amazon to expand access to computer science education in their school, and a tour of an Amazon robotics fulfillment center in Kent, Washington. More details to follow as the 2019-2020 school year nears.
