Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology - we call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High school participants call it "the hardest fun you'll ever have." Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
Students get to:
- Learn from professional engineers
- Build and compete with a robot of their own design
- Learn and use sophisticated software and hardware
- Compete and cooperate in alliances at tournaments
- In 2016 over $25 million in college scholarships were offered
Please contact your local school to see if they have a FIRST Robotics Competition team established. If not, consider starting a team yourself! Once a team has been identified in order to participated in FIRST Robotics Competition the coach or team representative must go through the following steps:
Registration for all FIRST Robotics Competition Teams are handled by FIRST. In order to register as a FIRST Robotics Team, the coach or team representative must create a team profile within the team registration system. If you are a veteran FIRST Robotics Competition team, you are still required to renew your team's profile to confirm your participation in the upcoming season. After the team's coach or representative has confirmed their participation through the team registration system all team member are required to register themselves, individually, through the Youth Team Member Registration. The purpose is to create a network between all competing FIRST Robotics Competition team members, and to ensure that all the necessary paperwork has been completed and received by FIRST.
