Infinite Recharge Coach Email Volume 4 10/1/20 Coaches Chat, Registration and more!
Greetings Coaches!
If you are new to this email this is the place where you will find all of the Washington specific FIRST Robotics Competition information. Coaches in the FIRST system for the INFINITE RECHARGE season will be added once teams are able to register for events. Every email from me will be numbered and that number lets you know which update it is, if you miss an update you can find it on our website.
Here is what I have for you today:
- Coaches Chat Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 pm
- FIRST Faire – October
- iGrants – Important updates!
Coaches Chat Tuesday, Oct 6 7:00-8:00 pm
I’m sure all of you have seen the communications from FIRST that talk about what this season will look like. If you have missed those communications, you can find them here
I know many of you are wondering what that means for the Pacific Northwest. At the beginning of our coaches chat next week, we will be talking about what things look like for teams in the PNW. We will discuss fees as well as what we are looking at offering locally to help keep teams engaged. We will be using Zoom instead of GoTo Meeting so we can have more of a conversation with all of you. In the beginning, we will ask that you keep yourself muted and use the chat if you have questions while we go over our plan. Once we are finished, we encourage an open discussion so we can collaborate together. The meeting is scheduled for an hour but Kevin and I are happy to stay on until 8:30 if we have coaches that would like to continue to chat.
I have scheduled these chats monthly on the first Tuesday of every month through January for now. We may add additional Coaches Chats if there is interest from our community.
It would be wonderful if each team could have one representative attend the chat on Tuesday. Feel free to forward the link to your mentors or others who are interested in attending.

iGrants – Important Updates
I just learned today that there is an error with the iGrant form. For those of you who have filled it out, you probably noticed how short and simple it was this year (I believe just one question) That was an error with their form OSPI is working to correct the form and should have it posted by the end of this week or next week.
For those of you who have already filled out the form: I am still waiting to learn what that means if you have already filled out the iGrant form. I will send an update in next week’s team blast when I have more info from OSPI.
For those of you who have not yet filled out the form: Make sure that the new form is showing before you take time to fill it out. The current form only has one question as I understand it and is much shorter. Please wait to submit until you see the longer form.
FIRST Faire 2020!
I know the teams in Oregon have been hearing about FIRST Faire over the last few weeks. Because it is remote this year, we wanted to make it available to our broader community. I will be sending the info out to both FRC and FTC teams in Washington inviting them to join.
