Hello FRC Coaches, Mentors and Supporters,

In our effort to continue to raise funds for teams, we are finding that our donors are wanting to see that we are embracing the need for deeper inclusion. We need to show them not only the diversity of our teams but what we all are doing to celebrate diversity and become more inclusive. How we are working to make our teams represent the diversity in our schools. For those of you who have already participated in this workshop THANK YOU, you are helping all of our teams by your attendance!

To support this movement and make things easier for all of you, we have scheduled Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshops at several events. These workshops are not run by FIRST Washington or ORTOP. We have brought in a professional to educate us all on diversity. Here are the events she will be attending:

Clackamas Academy

Glacier Peak

West Valley

Bellingham

Auburn

We would love to see one adult and one student from each or our teams in the PNW attend a DEI workshop. This will give us data that we can pass along to our sponsors showing our efforts in this area.

You know I think every single one of our teams is fantastic and I am so proud to be a part of the PNW! One area we all can improve on though is RSVPing for things especially workshops (as any of our workshop hosts can attest!) We want to made sure our presenter can prepare for the number of people she will be working with so we are asking everyone to PLEASE fill out the RSVP link below. If we don’t see enough interest at a particular event, we may need to drop the workshop from that event. Please take a moment right now (especially if you are attending Clackamas or Glacier Peak since we will need to make a decision about those events early next week.)
