Here is what I have for you today:
Invoices went out Monday, 10-17
Make sure you are event ready
Slides from last Tuesday’s coaches Chat (10-11) are posted

FTC Tuesday’s with Kevin – Cancelled this week
Onshape with Kevin Tues & Wed
Invoices went out Monday, 10-17
Invoices were sent out Monday to either the Admin listed for your team or The Lead Contact 1.
The invoice come directly from our accounting software, not a firstwa email so you should look for something from comms@aplos.org. Please check your spam folder if you do not see the invoice in your in box.
Invoices were set to teams that filled out the FIRST Washington registration form.
Invoices can be secured with a PO, check or credit card, and will need to be secured before your first league event in November.
Make sure you are event ready
As we get close to our first round of FTC league events, I want to remind you all that to be event ready you must:
Have a lead 1 and lead 2 coach listed on your dashboard
Both must have signed consent forms and passed ypp
Get your students listed on your teams’s dashboard and have their parents sign consent forms
Recording of the FTC Coaches Chat from 10-11 has been posted
Teams that have registered with FIRST and FIRST Washington have been placed into leagues. We have posted them on our website both by team number and league to make it easier for all of you. You can find your league assignment here: https://firstwa.org/first-tech-challenge/
Most of our league event information has been posted to our website, you can find it here: https://firstwa.org/first-tech-challenge/teams/event-schedule/ Event information for all of the League events should be posted by this Friday, 10-21. Additionally, you should be hearing from your League Coordinators with more event information this week or next week.
FTC Tuesdays with Kevin 6-7 pm every Tuesday
Bring your questions or just tune in!
All of these meetings start on 9/13/2022 and will be each week until December 14th. They all use the following Zoom link:
We will make every attempt to record and upload these sessions to Youtube each week. Check our FIRST Washington Youtube channel and the ‘with Kevin’ playlist.
Onshape with Kevin every Tuesday & Wednesday
Onshape CAD Tuesday with Kevin (Tuesdays 7pm to 8:30pm)
Onshape CAD Wednesday with Kevin (Wednesday 6:30pm to 8:00pm)
Online help learning about CAD using Onshape. This 90 minute session will help get you started and help solve your CAD issues using Onshape. Many of the techniques will apply to other CAD programs as well, but this one will specifically use Onshape. Learn about assemblies, importing parts from vendors like Rev Robotics and AndyMark, modifying parts, creating your own parts for 3D printing, and working with a team on a project. Onshape is free for every FIRST participant and runs on a wide array of hardware because it is web based. You will, however, want a three button mouse. Specifically, a mouse with a left and right button plus a center scrolling mouse button. You can get one for about $6 from Amazon prime. CAD programs work very poorly on laptops with finger pads (trackpads).
Onshape CAD will be applicable to both FTC and FRC. All are welcome.
The first week (9/13 and 9/14) both days will focus on getting you and your team setup to use Onshape in an efficient way, demos on what the program does, and a tour of where to find the tutorials and which ones to start with. I expect that 9/14 will be mostly a repeat of 9/13.
