Invitational information-
In 2021, the youth of the world will bring the evolution of sports and play to Greece, founding country of the Olympic Games. Throughout history, Greeks have always loved sport. From the Homeric Age, the period of Classical Greece, through the rule of Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic period, to the Roman Empire and the Byzantine era, most cities had public gymnasiums where people gathered to train and relax.
The Greeks believed that a healthy body was very important for mind and soul. Greece was home of the ancient Olympic Games, first recorded in 776 BC in Olympia. The country hosted the modern Olympic Games twice: the inaugural 1896 Summer Olympics and the 2004 Summer Olympics. Classical Greek culture, science, Fine Arts and Democracy were born here. Ancient Greece, considered the cradle of Western civilization, thrived.
In 2021, Eduact, the FIRST LEGO League Operational Partner in Greece, will host a FIRST LEGO League Virtual Open with 200 teams from all over the world, to celebrate STEM, Robotics and combine this ancient civilization with technology and innovation!
Virtual Event The first FIRST® LEGO® League Program Virtual Open event will be a unique experience for almost 2.000 students from 100 countries!
Every team will participate in all official com-petition processes. Gifts, medals and trophies will be given to every team to honor their participation but most importantly virtual activities will ensure the fun and excitement of FLL spirit!
