-
Are there sponsorship opportunities?
Of course there are and please join us as a sponsor! Contact Erin McCallum, erin@firstwa.org to help sponsor.
-
Can anyone participate?
YES, YES, YES! Of course, we love to have technical people participate, but this is event is not just for technical people. We are an inclusive group and would love to have companies from all areas: technology, retail, food service, real estate, manufacturing, finance, consulting and more with participants from all areas of expertise, not just technologists including: communications, design, finance, marketing, sales, merchandising, project management, human resources, etc.! It takes teams of “experts” with a variety of backgrounds to build a robot, just as if it takes to build a healthy business.
-
What do we do with our robot when complete?
You, of course, can keep your robot as a souvenir but we would love to have teams donate their robot and EV3 kit, back to FIRST Washington where FIRST Washington will donate to a disadvantaged team/school in need!
-
Who is FIRST Washington?
We are the largest afterschool STEM program across the state, inspiring students ages 6-18 to get interested in STEM! We have nearly 1200 teams in 133 school districts (34 out of 39 counties) and other great community organizations (Boys and Girls Clubs, community centers, Girl Scouts, 4-H, etc.). We like to call FIRST Washington the sport of science, technology and teamwork…..where every kid can go pro! To see FIRST Washington programs impact, check these out: Royal City and Nerdy Girls.
-
Will our team(s) have mentors?
Of course! Each team is paired with 2-3 students from one of FIRST Washington’s teams. They will guide and support you through this team-building journey, just as adult mentors do for their teams during the competitive FIRST robotics competition season.
A Corporate Team Bonding Experience!

Assemble a corporate team of up to 5 adults and build a LEGO robot! No experience necessary, this event is for everyone, compete against peers from all industry types. All funds support FIRST Washington a 501 (c) (3) and teams.
Teams are encouraged to donate beyond paying their registration fee!
