FTC Blog: Volume 12

Next FTC Coaches Chat is scheduled for Tues, Nov 21 at 7:00 pm

This is a great opportunity to check in with all of you to see how your first league event went as well as talk about any changes coming up before the next round of league events.

We will also be talking about the Dean’s List submission process and deadlines on our next call

There will also be an opportunity for coaches to chat so you can get connected with and collaborate with other coaches in Washington.

FTC Invoices are due and MUST be paid prior to your next event.

For those teams that have paid their invoices, thank you!  You can disregard the rest of this section.

For those of you who haven’t paid your FIRST Washington Registration (which is over half of our teams at this point)  Please get your invoice paid asap. You may not be allowed to play in your second league event if your invoice is not secured.

Your invoice was sent to the person that was designated on your FIRST Washington registration form.  If you did not receive your invoice, please let me know (Include your team number and who needs to receive the invoice in your email).

FTC Blog: Volume 11

First Round of League Events are this Weekend

A few things to note:

  • Most teams do not feel ready to compete.  If you feel you are not ready, you are not alone!!!
  • Show up to your event regardless of how ready you feel.  There will be people at the event that will help you get your robot on the field.
  • You will need to print off your team roster and turn it in at each event you attend.  Be prepared and make sure to have your roster with you.

FTC Invoices have been sent to the main contact listed on the FIRST Washington Registration form

Please make sure to pay your invoice as soon as possible.  We would like it paid before your event this weekend.  It will need to be paid before your event in December.

If you did not receive an invoice, feel free to email me and let me know.  Please include your team number in the email.

FRC Blog Volume 9 – Make sure you are registered for a kickoff

Make sure you are registered for a kickoff

Every team needs to select a kickoff to attend or your team will be marked as a my site.

If your team is marked as a my site it means

  • You kit will not ship to you until after kickoff (so it may take a week or longer until you receive it)
  • You will be charged shipping by firstinspires

You can register for your kickoff on your firstinspires dashboard

You are not required to attend the kickoff, you can send someone to pick up your kit during the kit pick up window.

The recording from our last coaches chat is posted

I apologize for the confusion.  I thought all of the zoom meeting links had been removed but there was a zoom link still on our calendar so I know many of you were trying to attend the meeting but couldn’t find the correct link.

As I said in the last blog, we are switching over to teams for these meetings so be sure to check that the link you are using is a teams link.

FTC Blog Volume 9 – Leagues will be posted Friday

League Assignments should be posted by end of the day Friday, October 13

In order to be placed in a league, you must be registered with FIRST Washington.

If you do not see your team on the list, it is probably because you have not registered with FIRST Washinton

We are working on posting the league information and will try to have all of that up by Friday evening as well but some leagues may not have info posted until Monday, October 16.

Event communication witll come from your League Coordinator.

FTC Invoices should be sent out no later than Monday, October 16

In order to participate in your league events, you must have secured your FIRST Washington Registration.

Those that filled out the registration form prior to the grant deadline (September 30) and requested a grant, should see grant funds applied to their invoice.

If you registered after the deadline, you may see some grant funds but you may also be responsible for the full $925.

FTC Build Day, October 14

As mentioned on our coaches chat, we will be having an FTC build day at our fieldhouse in Kent on Saturday, October 14.  This is an opportunity for teams to bring their robot (or robot parts) and collaborate with other teams while working on their robot.  Additionally, we will have a copmetition field set up for teams to practice on (if they are to that point)  The build day is really an open house format but we are asking teams to register.  Out of respect for our volunteers time, if we don’t have enough interest, we will cancel the build day.

Details and sign up is below:

  • Who:  Any rookie or veteran FTC team
  • What:  FTC Build Day
  • When:  October 14, 10 am – 3:00 pm
  • Where:  FIRST Washington Fielhouse 22426

Teams are required to register.  It is important for you to put your arrival time, an estimate for the number of students is just fine.
