FIRSTWA Grant closes monday!

FIRST Washington Grant closes Monday, October 5 at 5:00 pm 

FIRST Washington Grant is open.  You can find past communications regarding funding and the link to the grant application here:  https://firstwa.org/firstwa-grant/   

Remember: 

• You will have to fill out a grant application to be considered for any funding that FIRST Washington manages 

• The grant form will need to be filled out for each team you would like to be considered for funding 

• Grants will no longer be deducted from your FIRST Washington registration, they will be issued separately based on the info you submit in the grant application as well as your school requirements (if you are a school based team) 

If you have already filled out a grant application- please check to make sure you have hit the submit button and not just saved it. If it is not submitted, it will not be accepted!

There are several grants that are showing as saved and not submitted (no I don’t know what teams they belong to).

Important! If your team is planning to participate- please register yout team with FIRST Inspires and FIRST Washington asap. I will have to make a decision on cutting the number of events soon. If I have to cut events and your team registeres late I may not have a place for you to participate. I am also unable to place teams in events until teams are registered! 

If you are waiting on grant funds etc. to pay your FIRST Inspires registration- please register with FIRST Washington at the very least so I know you plan to participate! If you are having dificulties, please let me know!

The slides and recording from our first coaches chat of the season are posted here

FIRST WA Robotics invites teams to attend our FIRST LEGO League Innovation Panels. These panels will run with leaders from multiple partner companies from late September through October at 3-4:30 pm, giving students a broad look at real world environmental innovation.

Panelists will help inspire their Innovation Projects by sharing how their work supports environmental stewardship and biodiversity goals — showing students how major companies tackle the same challenges they’re studying.

Your team will join a moderated 90 minute session with 4-5 professionals. Each panelist will give a short introduction, answer student questions, and share real examples of how their work intersects with environmental sustainability, biodiversity, and innovation.

If your team is interested in attending, use this link to sign up! Once you sign up, a meeting link along with some sample questions will be sent to you. 

Our confirmed sessions so far are with General Motors and Stoke Space, with more coming in the next few days! Our first session is on 9/29 so register now!

Boeing Team Grants are open!

  You can find more information on the firstinspires website here:  https://www.firstinspires.org/programs/team-grant-opportunities  Be sure to check it regularly for new team grant opportunities. 

If you have a Boeing mentor, reach out to them to ensure that they apply asap.  Funds will be available until they run out. 

FIRST Washington Grant will open 9-14

  As we said in communications over the summer, FIRST Washington Grants will be handled a bit differently this year.  Here are the important changes to note: 

• You will have to fill out a grant application to be considered for any funding that FIRST Washington manages 

• The grant form will need to be filled out for each team you would like to be considered for funding 

• Grants will no longer be deducted from your FIRST Washington registration, they will be issued separately based on the info you submit in the grant application as well as your school requirements (if you are a school based team) 

The grant will open 9-14 and will close 10-5.  As stated above, if you want your team to be considered for any funding that FIRST Washington handles, you will need to fill out this application. 

We will post the application link and information on the application on the FIRST Washington website once the grant is open as well as send that information out in the blog on 9-15.

   • This is a quick starting point that many teams use to support their teams

3. If we have donors from last year, have we asked them this season, or have we shared how we did last season with them?
