Registration

Registration Information and Help

Registration still seems to be an issue for the programs, so I am going to share the same thing from last weeks coaches chat.

1. Your first step is to do your Team Registration with FIRST Inspires (firstinspires.org). You will need to log in on the website and go to your dashboard to register.

Then you are going to want to go complete the FIRST Washington registration and the Event Registration on firstwa.org.

FIRST Washington registration for both Challenge and Explore is similar, but for this I am only going to show Challenge.

Challenge registration is here- https://firstwa.org/challenge-registration/
Expolre registration is here- https://firstwa.org/explore-registration/

2. When you click the FIRST Washington registration button, it takes you to a page that looks like this-

3. When you click on the event registration button, it takes you to a page that looks like this-

When you fill out the FIRST Washington registration and the event registration, you are going to want your team number from your FIRST Inspires dashboard. If you have not paid yet and are a rookie, this number will start with 2023.

Not sure if you have registered of filled out the registrations with FIRST Washington?

4. Make sure you are checking the Team Status Sheet

Both Challenge and Explore have the same registrations forms, type of links and status sheets. Make sure you are checking them if you have questions.

They are updated once a day manually, so keep that in mind when you are checking please 🙂

Event Assignments!

I have started to make tentative event assignments for the teams that have paid their FIRST Washington registration fee! Look for those to be posted by the end of the week!

Assignments are made on a first come first served basis, so don’t wait! Events will fill up!

FTC Blog – Volume 10 – Invoices went out 10-16

FTC Invoices went out Monday, October 16

If your FTC team was registered with FIRST HQ and FIRST Washington, you should have received your invoice yesterday.

Invoices were sent to the person designated on your FIRST Washington registration form.

The invoice was sent from accounting@firstwa.org so check you spam folder if you don’t see it.  If you did not receive your invoice, send an email to accounting@firstwa.org and include your team number in the subject line of the email.

FTC Coaches Chat – Tuesday, October 17 at 7:00 pm

We will be having our next Coaches Chat next Tuesday at 7:00 pm.  Some of the things we will be talking about on the meeting are:

  •  Leagues
  • Invoices
  • Event Schedule
  • What happens at events

There will also be time for you all to connect and chat about how your season is going so far.

FTC Blog Volume 9 – Leagues will be posted Friday

FTC Blog Volume 9 – Leagues will be posted Friday

League Assignments should be posted by end of the day Friday, October 13

In order to be placed in a league, you must be registered with FIRST Washington.

If you do not see your team on the list, it is probably because you have not registered with FIRST Washinton

We are working on posting the league information and will try to have all of that up by Friday evening as well but some leagues may not have info posted until Monday, October 16.

Event communication witll come from your League Coordinator.

FTC Invoices should be sent out no later than Monday, October 16

In order to participate in your league events, you must have secured your FIRST Washington Registration.

Those that filled out the registration form prior to the grant deadline (September 30) and requested a grant, should see grant funds applied to their invoice.

If you registered after the deadline, you may see some grant funds but you may also be responsible for the full $925.

FTC Build Day, October 14

As mentioned on our coaches chat, we will be having an FTC build day at our fieldhouse in Kent on Saturday, October 14.  This is an opportunity for teams to bring their robot (or robot parts) and collaborate with other teams while working on their robot.  Additionally, we will have a copmetition field set up for teams to practice on (if they are to that point)  The build day is really an open house format but we are asking teams to register.  Out of respect for our volunteers time, if we don’t have enough interest, we will cancel the build day.

Details and sign up is below:

  • Who:  Any rookie or veteran FTC team
  • What:  FTC Build Day
  • When:  October 14, 10 am – 3:00 pm
  • Where:  FIRST Washington Fielhouse 22426

Teams are required to register.  It is important for you to put your arrival time, an estimate for the number of students is just fine.

FRC Blog Volume 8 – Everyone needs to pick a 2nd preference

FRC Blog Volume 8 – Everyone needs to pick a 2nd preference

Every team needs to pick a 2nd preference before 9 am tomorrow

There seems to be some confusion, it doesn’t matter how many events you listed for your first preference, you were only placed into one event.

Every team needs to go in and preference for their 2nd event before 9 am tomorrow morning (If for some reason you are not doing a 2nd event, there is a choice that says “I’m not doing a 2nd event”  Remember, that does not change the cost to participate, however.)

Some teams will end up on the waitlist for the event they have chosen.  We have 12 rookies this year so my first priority will be to get those teams into their 2nd event.  Because of this, if you are a veteran coach, you may not hear from me until Monday.

Our next FRC Coaches Chat will be next Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 pm.

We will be switching over to Teams for the meetings from now on.

During this meeting we will be going over:

  • Invoicing
    • Timing
    • Payment Deadlines
  • Booster Accounts

Along with several other things.  It is also an opportunity for you all to connect and chat about what is going on in your shop.
